Learn to Meditate @ FestivalAsia – May 15th/16th/17th

It’s always amazing to see how relaxed and peaceful people can feel during the Sahaja Yoga sessions in the sometimes noisy, crowded and hectic atmosphere of large shows. Quite often we have other stall holders coming to us to learn how to meditate and gain some relief. Come and see us on the Sahaja Yoga stand 62 –  on May  15th/16th/17th 2015 in Tobacco Dock, 50 Porters Walk, London, E1W 2SF and achieve Yoga effortlessly & spontaneously.

What exactly is ‘yoga’? As it turns out, we can safely rule out flexing in a brightly coloured leotard, in front of a wall-to-wall mirror. An authoritative (and ancient) source defines yoga as: “Yogas chitta vritti nirodhah.”  That is the original Sanskrit version, taken from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali (approx. 2 – 5 BC). Translated into plain English, it reads something like: “The removal of the fluctuations of the mind”.

‘The removal of the fluctuations of the mind’… in other words, ‘thoughtless awareness’, or ‘mental silence’ – the unique meditative state which can be experienced and learnt freely at Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes worldwide. True yoga is no longer the exclusive right of the privileged, lone disciple on a remote mountaintop. Thanks to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the creator of Sahaja Yoga, it is meant for everyone in the world, right now.

In previous shows – staffed by volunteers everyone is impressed by the interest of show visitors, who enjoy so much those few, precious moments of  ‘thoughtless awareness’ achieved through Sahaja Yoga meditation. Often those who try-out Sahaja Yoga kept sitting – beyond time – absorbed in their deep state of meditation. Sahaja Yoga is a practical experience that immediately and easily allows people to realise a state of inner peace and relaxation and also, in many cases, a state of bliss.
