An Oasis of Inner Silence in Reading, Berkshire

Have you been seeking and searching for inner peace & balance; the strength to control your attention; and perhaps even something magical, that cannot be fully explained in words? Then, now is the time to awaken an amazing, living energy within you, that will open the path to all these, and much more. On the first Thursday that is convenient for you, head on down to our venue on Oxford Road in Reading, to discover an oasis of silence.

In the oldest scriptures known about yoga, the state of true meditation is described as achieving “thoughtless awareness”. It is a natural outcome of Sahaja Yoga, and experienced by hundreds of thousands around the world daily, using the simplest of techniques. And it’s only the starting point to a genuine transformation and joy that you would never imagine was possible.

Our sessions take place every Thursday, 18:30 – 20:00, at

 Oddfellows Hall,

118b Oxford Road,

Reading, RG1 7NQ

and are always free. Simply turn up, and make yourself comfortable. There is always place for beginners, so there is no need to make a booking in advance (but you may like to indicate your attendance on our Meetup page). Each session includes the basics and a practical guided meditation, so you will learn how to meditate at home from Day One. Sahaja Yoga meditation is natural and easy, and no special equipment is required. The meetings are conducted in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Simple and practical

Sahaja Yoga Meditation is an effective, proven method to achieve stress-relief. Even early on, a person practising Sahaja Yoga can experience a state of ‘mental silence’, where the mind is completely at rest, together with heightened awareness, and inner peace. Regular practice can bring about positive developments on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels, and lead to significant personal transformation. 10 minutes a day is sufficient to derive benefits.

Join any time as a complete beginner, and learn:

  • How to meditate, and balance your inner being
  • About the subtle energy centers, ‘the chakras’, and simple techniques to cleanse them
  • How to feel, and easily decode the condition of your energy centres
  • How to give self-realisation to, and cleanse the chakras of others

Our cheerful, experienced volunteers will always be delighted to answer your questions. Or, send us an email: info@berkshire-meditation.org

Scientific, as well as magical

A growing body of scientific research is increasingly revealing how amazing Sahaja Yoga is. Visit MeditationResearch.co.uk to check out, among many others, how Sahaja Yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system, and brings about a state of relaxation that is actually superior to sleep. Thoughtless awareness not only relaxes the body, but also the brain, and the mind, paving the way for higher concentration, better attention, better appreciation of reality, reduced mental clutter and stress, emotional and mental detachment (read: all-round resilience), and reduced blood pressure. With regular meditation, the brain ages more slowly. Sahaja Yoga contributes to a decrease in stress hormones, allowing the individual to sleep better. And, finally: “thoughtless awareness” is scientifically ‘a different state of consciousness’ – and it’s just a short ride away. See you soon at our meeting in Reading.
