Become Your Own Guru

Many people in Scotland search the meaning of the term  Guru, yet what exactly does it imply?

Shri Mataji Guru / Teacher - Become Your Own Guru

Shri Mataji Guru / Teacher – Achieve Yoga & Learn to Meditate

The word guru has a very specific meaning:

Gu = ignorance. Ru = dispeller. Hence a Guru should be able to bring about the removal of spiritual ignorance and illusion, which engulfs the human condition.

Also the term Guru denotes master or teacher. Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja Yoga meditation expresses this unique invitation in the following way: Become your own Guru!

This intention is expressed through a question and affirmation exercise each week at countless free meetings across Scotland, whereby those attending, experiment with truth, in invoking this principle within themselves.

This principle of Guru resides in the Navel area, the area surrounding the third chakra. This is the principle which gives you balance, which gives you gravity. The gravity which connects us to Mother Earth is expressed through the Guru principle.

As Shri Mataji explains: The first point of gravity is that you should have a personality, a character and a temperament that people would see that you are a personality who doesn’t get dissolved into worldly things, a personality which doesn’t get ruined by the skirmishes of life.

As those practicing Sahaja Yoga Meditation dedicate themselves to this principle, their innate gravitas begins to strengthen and establish. Its like tapping into your own inner Life Coach. You begin to establish Self Mastery.

Whilst it may not be fashionable to be steady, disciplined or strict with oneself in this day and age, those that do find time to …..Become their own Guru, attain Yoga and achieve a Meditative State are being highly fashionable in that they are being very charitable, with themselves…..and in so doing, may in turn assist others………. and as they say: Charity begins at home!
